Ed Bailey: Chief Financial Officer
Ed is a comedian/podcaster from Cleveland, Ohio. He’s been able to share comedy stages with some of the industry’s elite, while garnering numerous accolades for his podcast “Drinking Partners” which he cohosts with Barrel & Flow Fest founder, Day Bracey. The two have been voted “Best Podcast” by Pittsburgh City Paper and recognized as two of the nation’s 40 Under 40 by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
Dom Shuck: Director of Entertainment
Dom has been linked to the music and comedy scenes for almost two decades. He is a self-professed Hip Hop junkie and a self-confessed proud music nerd. Dom is also very passionate about making things equitable for all, a mission that is even more important to him since the birth of his son, whom inspires him to push for a better tomorrow.
Thomas Poet: Head of Collaborations
Tom is the co-owner of New France Brewing Company in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Hazelwood. When he isn't working, he can be found spending time with his loving family. He is the proud father of two beautiful daughters, whom are his true north and his inspiration to improve himself and the space around him. As the head of collaboration for Barrel & Flow, he created the collaboration pack concept that helped to realize the mission of the festival: Black-brewed beer in homes all over America.
Ummey Karim: Operations & Communications Director
Ummey is the Operations & Communications Director at Barrel and Flow. At Barrel and Flow, she is in charge of all forms of communication including distributing press releases, facilitating board meetings, and curating newsletters. In collaboration with Barrel and Flow’s Founder, Day Bracey she oversees marketing and story-telling language that authentically reflects the voice and mission of the organization. Ummey was drawn to Barrel and Flow’s focus on supporting Black art and artists through collective creativity and economic development. Before joining Barrel and Flow, Ummey worked for 5+ years in People Operations, Workplace Experience, and Event Planning for startups based out of New York City and San Francisco. Ummey holds a BA in Journalism. When she is not working, she can be found teaching yoga and enjoying swimming, biking, and exploring all of the hiking trails Pittsburgh has to offer. Chardaè Jones: Community & Business Outreach Director
Chardaè Jones is a writer, published author, professional volunteer, and a connector of all things. From Braddock, PA the 2021 Pittsburgh Magazine 40 Under 40 awardee has published over 15 books on behalf of herself and others. She holds a BA in Professional Writing and Communications from Carlow University. She is the current secretary for Pennsylvania Young Democrats and Councilwoman of Braddock Borough. The former Mayor of Braddock enjoys community advocacy, playing with her husky, all things Halloween, traveling, cooking, hosting Murder Mystery Dinners, and eating her way around the Burgh.
Tyra Jamison: Festival Coordinator
Pittsburgh-born, Hill District-raised, Tyra Jamison is an artist, auntie, and writer cultivating a world they want to see. Tyra has been bringing folks together for art, liberation, and a good time since 2013. On any given day, you can catch them exploring sunny places, growing something, or perfecting a plant-based recipe. Cheers to a quarter century (and counting) of being Black & queer with big visions.
Tamera Dixon: Operations & Communications Coordinator
Tamera Dixon is a dynamic Black woman dedicated to community engagement, equity, and personal growth. A Raja Yogi student and mindfulness facilitator, Tamera has led classes through organizations such as Awaken Pittsburgh, helping individuals connect with their inner strength and peace. She is a certified Restorative Practices Coordinator and trained in racial equity through the Racial Equity Conscious Institute (RECI), with a passion for creating inclusive, compassionate spaces.
Tamera holds a Master’s degree in Community Counseling and has completed Project Management and Digital Training through the Andy Warhol Academy. In her role as Community Manager for Pittsburgh Brown Mamas, supported by her Meta certification, she empowers women to lead intentional lives while fostering community growth. Her global experiences include international investigations in the Netherlands and mission trips to Argentina, all pursued alongside her higher education journey.
Tamera began her career as a strengths-based caseworker in Family Group Decision Making before quickly advancing to roles such as Family Advocate and Compliance Specialist. In these positions, she advocated for families navigating complex systems, ensured compliance with local and federal regulations, and created innovative solutions, including a streamlined financial process for children in foster care that strengthened partnerships between childcare agencies and foster care systems.
A single supported mother to a 13-year-old multi-sport athlete, and 12u keystone state champion in wrestling.Tamera is a matriarch and trendsetter, inspiring mothers to raise Black sons with intentionality, resilience, and pride. Tamera prides herself in teaching families how to parent after the divorce or the breakup without systems involvement.
Through her professional accomplishments and personal dedication, Tamera continues to create transformative pathways for individuals, families, and communities.
